Titan Grip tanking 2x2H build

Recommended Posts

Hello, I joined this project yesterday because I have always been fascinated by /script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("\124cffffd000\124Hspell:46917\124h[Titan's Grip]\124h\124r"); and always fantasised about being a tank that dodge and parry like in animes (Claymore comes to mind) and use energy, rage and mana without worrying for resource regeneration so I have been looking around other builds to try and come up with one that might help me in my adventure :D

Any helpful opinions are very welcome, i do admit that i am missing aoe and I am unsure if all the talents I selected stack or which more useful I should add .

I have been looking around some more from other builds (mainly Rampancy: The bulwark https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J75ZjTT3U1f02W2TYGN5oncgRTyIvoztaMDHnhrBbzw/pubhtml# )

Also his  https://youtu.be/1citrHYaObU?t=197 at minute 3:17 shows a build that would be a very good start for what I have in mind so by mixing and matching his 2 sources and considering that I will not use shields I just ignored all advise about abilities and talents regards shields or block and I came up with this build:

Where is your threat generation? why windsear for a tank? it reduces threat (small amount i know.)

Does hammer of righteousness even work with a two hander?

I was thinking of using Ghostly strike and Reposte as threat generation from rogue side and Thunder clap and Vigilance as threat generation from warrior side.

According to my research from my 2 main sources it seems it is ranged with very short cooldown, also I was planning on using taunt in case I lost aggro from using this ability.

I have no clue about this, I hope it does! Since I was planning on using it together with the buff Righteous Fury to be able to generate threat.

SirGank, I joined this game 2 days ago so please let me know what you advise to fulfil my fantasy :D

This is in no way, shape or form, a proper tank build. Hell it's not even a proper TG build.

Some of the worst talent choices ever as well, improved aspect of the monkey ? why when you can spend the same 3 points in rogue combat dodge, get the same amount of dodge, but also get 6% haste. Divine shield drops agro, not a good choice either.

Not to mention no expertise (GJ your gonna be haste buffing anything you tank), Dodge is literally the worst of all evasion stats since there is only 1 return damage talent for it (which you aren't even using), compared to the at least 2 or even 3 with block and parry.

Hammer of rightiousness ? mate did you even bother freaking READING the skill descriptions ? "requires 1h".

This at best is a solo / pvp grind spec, and a bad one at that.

You're looking at the 1st build, I have made another with some more insight.

The website tools do not mention that, once I got ingame I did learn that and that is why I made a third build after I discovered the application.

You'd do well to get Nether Protection from Destruction Warlock. It's one of the best defenses vs spells. Also think about grabbing Slice and Dice (more seal procs), dropping Devastate for Mortal Strike and speccing for that skill as well as dropping Anticipation from Warrior, maybe throwing those talents into Reckoning in Prot Pally (which is a huge damage/threat increase in addition to giving more parry%, which you want more than Dodge) because extra attacks with a 2h is a huge deal.

Keep in mind that you will get gear which increases your dodge and parry rate, so you don't need to invest SO heavily on dodge talents. Also keep in mind that you will get hit no matter how much avoidance you have, so armor is just as important.

I have removed most talents that give dodge but followed your advice and kept the Lightening Reflexes from combat rogue talent tree.

Removed the talents as I was not aware of such mechanic.

Added.

I was indeed looking for something to use the combo point and I was also looking for a way to make the seal proc more, you did help me on both sides with 1 sentence.

Done, now Mortal strike will help me generate more treat with talents.

Done, Reckoning now should help me proc my Seal of light more often with will increase my self healing, thank you very much for this insight.

Thank you very much ArmorGeddon and MooMachine, I have created a new build, please let me know if there are any other improvements I could make:
